‘There is more you in U’ is about potential. As Uplace’s guiding principle, it embodies our drive to look for and maximize potential in cities, companies, communities and individuals. It also reflects the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility within Uplace. CSR is a cornerstone and a driving force for Uplace on a number of levels:
- Our mission and ambitions
- The way we develop and build our projects
- The organizations and individuals we support
Mission
Uplace’s mission is fundamentally social. On an individual level, Uplace gives people the convenience they desire, the leisure activities they prefer, the professional environment that will make them happy and efficient. Uplace aims to build environments that allow them to become a better, happier, healthier, more prosperous and ambitious version of themselves. On a community level, Uplace brings a city what it has been missing, revitalizing a community from within while putting it on the map for the outside world. As part of this community-building effort, Uplace focuses on brownfield reconversion projects, bringing new life to polluted, abandoned and forgotten places.

Approach
Our goal of improving quality of life also shows in the way we do business and develop our projects. Working in compliance with rules and regulations is the absolute minimum. The impact of our projects on customers, employees, the community at large and the environment is not just a consideration in everything we do. It is a driving force. Furthermore, in developing our projects, we are guided by the so-called Golden Rule: "Treat others as you would like to be treated." Uplace only develops projects that we would love to work in, live close to, and spend a fun time in ourselves.
Uplace is not your typical developer. We are committed to the long-term success of our projects. We manage and own our experience destinations, continuously upgrading and updating to keep them at the forefront of latest developments.
For Uplace, sustainability is key. Energy saving measures, responsible use of water and facilitation of transportation are just a few examples of the many ways Uplace incorporates sustainability in its projects.
Support
Uplace actively supports a number of individuals and organizations that embody our “There is more you in U” motto, or see and encourage potential in others.
In sports, it is about looking for the next level, for boundaries that can be pushed, personal best records that will be broken. Becoming the athlete or team you can be is just a training session away. That is why Uplace supports a number of sports-related initiatives, ranging from large-scale to very local.

Triathlon:
Uplace Triathlon Team
Triathlon pushes the boundaries of athletic ahievements more than any other sport. It is probably the most appropriate sport to embody Uplace's "There is more you in U" motto. Uplace founded the first Belgian professional triathlon team to support Belgian triathletes in their quest for top results and a leading position in internation triathlon. The Uplace Triathlon Team consists of Belgian top triathletes Sofie Goos and Bruno Clerbout.

Quest for Gold - Sebbe Godefroid & Carolijn Brouwer
More than once, world-class sailing champions Sebbe Godefroid & Carolijn Brouwer have captured the attention and admiration of a nation. They are the living proof that even the smallest country can make a significant impact on a global scale. That is why Uplace backed their quest for gold at the Beijing Olympic Games.

The Itinera Institute is “an independent and non-partisan think-tank and do-tank that identifies and promotes roads for policy reform towards sustained economic growth and social protection, for Belgium and its regions.” Uplace helps finance this project, a prime example of the pursuit to find structural solutions to real problems.
