Maximising Energy Savings

Uplace deliberately opted for a partial glass canopy only, meaning that you can enjoy the fresh air but still stay dry if it rains. The open air shopping and pedestrian streets minimise energy consumption. We also achieve huge savings by not heating the streets: 2.4 million Kwh per year. This is equal to the average annual consumption of 685 households.

The smart architecture provides plenty of natural daylight in the shops. This results in a saving of 2.4 million kWh: the average consumption of approximately 685 households. State-of-the-art heat pumps also drastically reduce the heating and cooling costs in other areas. These devices recover up to 80% of the energy supplied from their environment (air, ground or water), drastically reducing both CO₂ emissions and energy consumption.

Smart lighting for reduced consumption

The many windows will allow you to take full advantage of natural daylight throughout the project. Smart LED lights will further reduce the lighting costs. Mobility sensors shall ensure that lights only come on when necessary.

By using this clever way of lighting, we save up to 40% of what this type of complex would consume with conventional lighting - equal to the annual energy consumption of 175 households.
