More people, more customers
Uplace is a breath of fresh air for the Noordrand. Creating jobs close to home will enhance the appeal of the communes in the Noordrand and enable them to attract new residents. This will clearly be beneficial to retailers. Creative entrepreneurs can also benefit from the flow of visitors to Uplace by offering complementary products and services. In the next few years, we shall be helping local SMEs to enhance their business plans by organising workshops and information sessions. In addition, we plan to invest EUR 1.1 million in the redevelopment and revitalisation of urban centres in the surrounding communes. Joint promotion campaigns are another important item on our agenda.
Pop-up stores for starters
Uplace’s shopping streets and offices will also offer traders new opportunities. Part of the premises will be dedicated to startups, which we are actively seeking. A fantastic boost for local entrepreneurs!
Better accessibility to local retailers
Significant investment in public transport and access to the entire Vilvoorde – Machelen redevelopment area will provide much better accessibility to existing shops as well. Luc Notredame, owner of ForMen clothing shop in Louvain, believes in the Uplace project.
